Saturday is Bat Night at Mammoth Cave National Park

To celebrate Bat Night, this Saturday, August 27th, Mammoth Cave National Park has activities running through the during daylight hours, and into dusk dusk, the prime time for viewing bats.

During the day visitors will be able to view a poster display describing bat-related research happening at Mammoth Cave National Park, White-nose Syndrome and other exciting bat related information.

In the evening, there will be a bat program in the park amphitheatre, followed by the opportunity to use night vision goggles to view the bats, and the use special equipment to hear the bat’s calling.

Bat Night is part of the International Year of the Bat, which was set aside to recognize the importance of bats in our world.
