As part of its annual Trees to Trails program, the Friends of Dunbar Cave are again collecting used decoration-free live Christmas trees at Tennessee’s Dunbar Cave State Park.

Once collected, local Boy Scouts have volunteered to prepare the trees for mulching, while the Clarksville Department of Electricity will chip the trees into mulch.

Come spring, the Friends of Dunbar Cave, a non-profit group committed to promoting and preserving Dunbar Cave State Park, will organize a trail mulching day to spread the mulch along the parks trail system.

This year, trees will be accepted until 11:00 am on January 5th, 2013.
