Dunbar Cave’s Trees to Trails Program Kicks Off
Now that Christmas has past, the Friends of Dunbar Cave, a non-profit group committed to promoting and preserving Tennessee’s Dunbar Cave State Park, is eager to collect the used Christmas trees for their annual Trees to Trails program.
The trees, once collected, will be recycled – stuffed in a wood chipper – and come spring, spread along the parks trail system.
Once devoid of all decorations, trees can be dropped off in the designated area of the Visitors’ Center parking lot between 8 a.m. and sunset.
Trees will be accepted until January 11th, 2012.
