Trapped Man Rescued From South Knoxville Cave

A man was rescued on Saturday after he became trapped in a cave in South Knoxville.

The man, exploring with a group of friends, was about 60 meters (200 feet) inside the cave, located by Cherokee Trail and Spruce Ridge Way, when his foot became stuck.

Members of the Knoxville Fire Department responded to call around 3:30 pm after friends of the man called 911.

In all, about 15 people took part in the successful rescue which took around an hour.
