The next presentation in the ongoing series of webinars put on by the NSS will feature an introduction to the National Cave Rescue Commission.

The presentation, which will acquaint folks with this important organization and its value to cavers, will be given by Anmar Mirza, the national coordinator for the NCRC.

Learn how cavers conduct self rescues and take care of problems themselves, find out why the number of major cave rescues has decreased, and discover how NCRC-trained cavers can reduce the impact on caves when a cave rescue is necessary.

An NCRC instructor since 1995, Mirza spent ten years as the Central Region NCRC coordinator and is the editor and a contributing author of the second edition of the “Manual of US Cave Rescue Techniques.”

The event runs from 9:00 to 10:30pm EDT (8:00pm CDT/7:00pm MDT/6:00pm PDT) on Wednesday May 22nd, 2013.

Registration is open, and as usual, space is limited, so reserve your spot now.

Also be sure to join 10 minutes early on the day of the presentation to assure your spot.
