In an exciting move, the University of Bristol Spelæological Society have re-released a popular out of print guidebook as an eBook.

First released in 2003, Caves of County Clare and South Galway is a comprehensive guide to the caves of the region. Considered essential reading for any caver planning to visit this area, the book contains descriptions of all caves known at the time of its publication.

In addition, the book provides an overview of the geology, geomorphology and hydrology of the Burren and the Gort Lowlands, and has detailed descriptions of all caves systems, large and small, divided up by geographical areas: the Western Burren, the High Burren and outlying areas such as the Aran Islands, East Clare and the Ennis Area.

The decision to release the eBook was made as a holdover as the next, expanded, edition of the guidebook is not due until 2019, the Society’s centenary year.

Available in epub or mobi formats, copies of the ebook can be purchased at the UBSS store for £5.00 (~$7.50 USD).

Thank you for the publicity. We believe that this is a first, at least for Britain & ireland.

All sales income will help fund the next edition.
