Teen Airlifted to Hospital After Fall at Maquoketa Caves State Park
A 14-year old boy was airlifted to hospital on Saturday after he fell about 40 feet at Maquoketa Caves State Park in eastern Iowa.
Just before 11:30 am on Saturday, Jackson County Sheriff’s Officers received a call that a teenager had fallen from a bluff in the park.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Maquoketa Fire and Rescue, Jackson County Regional Health Center Ambulance and Iowa Department of Natural Resources all responded to the call.
The boy, from Illinois, was taken to an Iowa City hospital where he is recovering. His condition has not been released.
