With the 2013 NSS Convention on this week, it’s only fitting to ask a convention themed question for this week’s Ask Cavers query.

So, this week, we want to hear your favorite thing about the NSS convention or your own annual caver gathering?

Is it sessions, food, friends, caving or something else entirely? Let us know in the comments below.

Speleon History. Otherwise a low key somewhat boring covention. Almost no US exploration And aging membership.

I’ve attended the annual CHECC forum in England for 3 years running (Council of Higher Education Caving Clubs), and the thing that’s never ceased to impress me is the willingness of different clubs to help each other out, not only with advice and ideas, but loaning equipment and teaching skills.

Oh and the party gets pretty wild too.

Well, I haven’t attended a convention since 1991. Is there still a ‘spa’ area ? That was always my fave.

My favorite part of Convention is the feeling of being surrounded by so many fellow cave enthusiasts!

Gary – The US Exploration Session was on Tuesday morning- sorry you missed it!

My favorite part of the NSS Convention is always building on the connections with old friends and new friends both. This year’s highlights for me… the US and International exploration sessions were great, Art Palmer’s presentation in the theater was awesome, the campground parties and jam sessions, Keith, Lisa, and Mike with the Syphons tore it up playing music on Wednesday night, and also the always great Photo Salon with awesome backing original music tracks by Keith Goggin. I agree with Gary that the US exploration sessions really needed a Binkley Cave 30 min presentation to round things out 🙂
