Video Features Ogof Ffynnon Ddu’s Rarely Visited Prokofiev Series

April 14, 2013 / Wales, United Kingdom, Europe

A new video uploaded to YouTube features one of the rarely visited areas of Ogof Ffynnon Ddu, the deepest cave in the U.K. and the second longest in Wales.

Although thousands of cavers have explored Ogof Ffynnon Ddu since it was discovered in 1946, a few areas of the cave remain off the beaten track.

One of these areas is the Prokofiev Series which lies only a few metres from Timo’s Table on one the main trade routes through the cave.

Deterred by a very tight eye hole squeeze, an intimidating traverse and an exposed 7 metre (23 foot) free-climb, most people never see the area.
