Video Compares Cave Features in Infrared and Visible Light
A video testing whether an infrared camera can detect cave entrances and blowholes has recently been uploaded to YouTube.
The footage, shot by Gregory S. Springer, shows various cave and karst features using a Tamarisk 320 infrared camera made by DRS Technologies.
To illustrate the usefulness for finding caves and blowholes the video offers a side by side comparison between the infrared images and visible light images.
Although only blowing caves seemed to show up on the infrared video, it does indicate that the use of infrared cameras can be beneficial for finding caves.
