Battle for Bats in Chicago this October

On Saturday, October 15, 2011 Bat Conservation International will be holding a special half-day Bat Symposium at Chicago’s Field Museum entitled The Battle for Bats after a short documentary that will be screened.

The free event will feature presentations by biologists, conservationists and government wildlife officials on bats and the threat they are currently facing called White-nose syndrome. They will discuss what’s being done about it, and how it affects you and the economy.

Merlin D. TuttleOne of the speakers, Dr. Merlin Tuttle is the Founder of Bat Conservation International and an International Year of the Bat Ambassador. As an ecologist he has studied bats and championed their preservation for more than 40 years.
