Free Tours at Oregon Caves During 14th Annual Open House
Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve will offer cave free tours as part of its 14th annual Community Day Open House, this Saturday May 9th.
This years popular annual event will feature nature hikes, chateau lodge tours as well as a “grand opening” ceremony to celebrate the monuments new hands-on exhibit, which opened in March. As part of the opening, special Junior Ranger activities will lead to a special treat for the kids.
Meanwhile, the free tours of the cave will be offered from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Visitors are asked only to bring a can of food to donate to people in need.
If that isn’t enough, a Siberian lynx and white tiger from Great Cats World Park in Cave Junction will be attending as ambassadors for the open house.
As the monument can be busy during Oregon Caves Community Open House, NPS staff recommend arriving early.
