Devon Cave Rescue Organisation Celebrates 50 Years

The Devon Cave Rescue Organisation celebrated 50 years of existence during one of their regular training nights last week.

The group, which is still going strong, began on February 13th, 1965.

To celebrate the crew began by breaking rocks, followed by some SRT training and finished off with a presentation and cake. Mike Bond, one of the original members of the DCRO, was awarded a British Cave Rescue Council 50 year service award—only the 6th caver to receive one.
