Sneak Peek: Inside the First Full-Color Issue of NSS News
The October 2013 issue of NSS News has been mailed out and will soon be arriving in members mailboxes.
This full color issue, the first of many, features two articles on the sea caves on New Zealand by Nicolas Barth. The first details the Caversham Caves of Otago which “Break the Sea Cave Paradigm,” with their large chambers, subterranean beaches, beautiful formations and untouched sea life.
Next, Nicolas shares this account of his solo exploration of Matainaka Cave on the South Island of New Zealand. At a surveyed length of 1.54 kilometers (0.96 miles), it is the world’s longest littoral (sea) cave.
Finally, David Ochel, with the help of Andrea Croskrey, writes about an excursion during the International Congress of Speleology, held recently in the Czech Republic, to visit Austria’s ice caves.
