This summer Missouri’s State Fair Community College will be offering a course on caves and caving.

The evening course, instructed by Blake Stephens with the Missouri Department of Conservation, will teach participants about caves and cave exploring, from ethical behavior and what to wear, to the different rocks and animals they might encounter.

Students will meet from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on July 15 and 22 at the campus in Sedalia, followed by a field trip to Jacob’s Cave, a commercial cave south of Versailles, on a Saturday still yet to be determined.

We’ll shed some light on the underground mysteries of Missouri’s darkest habitat and enjoy the adventure of crawling through Jacob’s Cave. Blake Stephens, Instructor

The course is sponsored by SFCC’s office of Lifelong Learning.
