Today Utah’s Timpanogos Cave National Monument is kicking off its 90th summer season.

With the opening this morning, the monument is introducing adjusted spacing of the tours.

Ranger led tours will now depart every 15 minutes versus 10 minutes in hopes of reducing crowding and associated impacts to the cave. Additional late afternoon tours have been added to accommodate as many visitors as possible.

Another welcome change is the ability to purchase tickets up to 30 days in advance. With over 70,000 people through the Timpanogos cave system each year, tours often sell out well in advance. Now anyone can call (801) 756-5238 to book ahead.

Meanwhile, any tickets not sold in advance will go on sale at the visitor center at 7:00 am on the morning of the tour.

For more information on the changes or on visiting the park, surf on over to the Timpanogos Cave National Monument website.
