Search for Missing Caver Continues After 8 Days

The family of a missing caver, Kevin Eve, is asking for more volunteers to join the search effort.

Last seen on October 1st, his car was found two days later in a remote part of Indiana’s Harrison-Crawford State Park.

With no sign of Kevin, a 25-year-old Iraq war veteran, after eight days of intense searching, there is increasing concern.

At times during the week the folks searching for Kevin have numbered as many as 50, but on Sunday it shrunk to only a few friends and family members. An out-of-state caving convention over the weekend is being blamed for drawing away a number of volunteers.

“Not knowing where he is and being at home waiting for that door to open and he’s just going to walk in and say ‘Oh, I’m sorry’ was I supposed to call you people. That’s the hard part… missing him,” – Kevin’s mother, Becky Eve during an interview with WDRB on Sunday.

Indiana Department of Natural Resources officers are asking for more information on where Kevin might be. Search crews have been frustrated, not finding any evidence either way that he is, or is not there.

Becky Eve is hoping more cavers will join the search effort.
