LA Times photographer Marc Martin and writer Louis Sahagun recently tagged along with a group of cavers and biologists from the US Bureau of Land Management on a visit to check caves in New Mexico for White-nose Syndrome.
The team visited Fort Stanton Cave near Ruidoso, New Mexico followed by a stop at Ladrone Cave, near Socorro about 175 kilometers (100 miles) away. Thankfully no bats were found infected with WNS during the visits.
Louis posted an article chronicling the trip, while Marc posted his “photographers journal” as well as a video of the expedition.
