Video: Discover Alberta’s Cave and Basin National Historic Site

April 24, 2015 / Canada, North America

A new Travel Alberta video promotes Cave and Basin National Historic Site, the birthplace of the Canada’s National Park system back in 1885.

Located in the town of Banff, the cave and its basin are the lowest component of nine hot springs clustered in three groups on the northeast flank of Sulphur Mountain in Banff National Park. The water is heated geothermally from an estimated depth of three kilometers (1.8 miles).
