National Parks Offer Free Cave Tours on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, the U.S. National Park Service will be waiving entrance fees at all National Parks. As an added bonus, a limited number of free cave tours will be available at Wind Cave National Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park and Mammoth Cave National Park.

New Mexico’s Carlsbad Caverns will be waiving their general entry fee which includes access to the Natural Entrance and Big Room routes. Charges for the audio guides and ranger guided tours are still in effect.

Meanwhile at Wind Cave National Park in South Dakota, the park will offer free Garden of Eden tours at 10:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm. Tickets to the one hour long tours are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Finally, Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave National Park is offering free Mammoth Passage cave tours at 10:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm, and 3:00pm. The 1-1/4-hour long tours are limited to 40 people, and participants must pick up a free ticket in the visitors center before going on the tour.
