Poll: Are pets attracted to your dirty caving gear?
After discussing with some colleagues how their cats love to roll around in anything that’s been in a cave, reader Suzanna Langowski wrote in to suggest a poll to find out how many other people have similarly addicted felines.

Not only did most respondents (over 70%) of last week’s poll indicate that they wanted to live in a cave, those that left comments were extremely enthusiastic about the idea. Perhaps it’s because cavers have the experience to dispel the scary notions that many people have of caves, or maybe being underground that long does something to our brains?

Whilst they don’t roll around on my gear, if I leave my oversuit outside to dry (or a box I carry gear in, or tackle bag) they quite often sit on/in those items..
I don’t have any pets, but my mate’s dog does like licking my skin after I’ve been underground, I think that he likes licking the minerals that get on my skin.
