Tennessee’s Ruby Falls, home to the tallest and deepest publicly accessible underground waterfall in the U.S., is opening it’s annual Haunted Cavern this Friday, September 28th.

Voted one of the top ten haunted houses in the U.S. in 2010, the experience takes you 26 stories under the ground to the “The Hall of the Lost Dead,” the abandoned mine shaft and natural cave where for generations, the surrounding communities would lay to rest the bodies of those they were ashamed to have buried in the hallowed grounds of their cemeteries.

The Haunted Cavern is open Friday through Sunday until October 28th, with additional nights on October 11th and 31st.
