Tennessee’s Morgan County Sheriff’s Department recently made an unexpected discovery when they came across a hidden meth lab in a small cave.

Inside the 6 meter (20 foot) wide cave was one of the largest meth labs yet discovered in the region, with some 320 litres (85 gallons) of chemicals, as well as batteries, burners, and other supplies used in the production of meth.

In the last few weeks members of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department have found six labs, most of them in the woods.

With an increase of raids in traditional meth lab settings, such as houses and cars, criminals have turned to the woods as a location to cook meth.

No arrests have yet been made, although a connection between the labs is suspected.
