Hen Party Held in Britain’s Gaping Gill

Although it may have been a difficult place to get to, holding a party in one of Britain’s biggest caves must have been a memorable experience for all involved. Bride-to-be Jude Onions held her hen party (bachellorette party) inside Gaping Gill with 25 of her closest friends and even a band.

Each one was winched down the 101 meter (334 foot) drop, which took over one hour for the whole group, including the band members, instruments in tow.

As is tradition for cavers to try to propose in a tiny space, Jude’s fiancee Johnny Latimer proposed to her inside a pub’s bread oven. The couple plan to start a family after getting hitched and are keen to get their children caving.
